convex lens application analysis of LED

Preface.
This paper focuses on the PMMA material of high power LED lighting for convex lens function characteristics and application.
一,Characteristics of convex lens:
1, convex lens of PMMA material , according to different design and needs, the lens diameter with 15mm to 45mm, commonly specifications for the diameter :19mm, with 23mm, with 29mm, with 38mm;
2 commonly convex type ( a flat, a convex ), flat surface collects LED light, and the convex surface does spotlight;
3 convex lens focusing is relatively uniform, in the actual application of this lamp convex lens with aspherical ( parabolic ) design, facula will be more uniform, uniform illumination;
4 It is generally applied in large angle illumination lamps, not small angle (within 45 degrees)
二,the same lens at different distances from the spotlight effect analysis:
1 the same lens distance in different circumstances, after lens effect is as above;
2 when flat surface of the lens is directly on top of the LED, the lens max angle ( such as UP-D23 is directly on LED, angle is about 80 degrees);
3 change lens distance between the lens and LED ,it can realize focusing angle changes, also it can be any needing angle;
4 it becomes far when the distance between the lens and the LED, although it can be smaller angle, but this part of LED light goes away from the lens side.( when you pull away the lens and the LED ,angle will be continued on smaller, even in the last irradiation on the wall to see chip imaging );
三,different surfaces, the spotlight effect analysis:
1 the same diameter, the same lens distance between a and LED in different surface conditions, spotlight effect as shown above;
2 in the same diameter under the condition, it can arbitrarily change the lens surface to obtain the desired angle (the condition is must do new mould );
3 when changing the lens surface, although the concentration angle can be smaller, but the increase in the thickness of the lens, optical loss increases, others, lens materials increased, injection molding time is longer, shrinkage rate increases.
四,different diameter of the lens effect analysis:
1 the distance is same between LED and lens, the same of surface coefficient, different diameter of lens effect is as above;
2 according to the lamp enclosure size and actual needs, it can design into any desired specifications, but you must first consider on the utilization rate of the light and the lamp housing assembly; so the commonly specifications generally is with 19mm, with 23mm, 29mm, with 38mm .
3 when the LED luminous area is larger, lens diameter must be correspondingly increased, aspheric convex lens design according to the LED brand. so when the light emitting area becomes large, the same lens ,the same distance, angle will increase;
4 when the lens diameter is increased, while maintaining the original surface coefficient, then increasing the size of the lens, lens center thickness increasing, the light loss will increase, because of large volume, injection time is long and the cost increased;
五,Effect and application of the clear and the frosted surface
1 The same convex lens, the clear and the frosted surface, effect is as shown above;
2clear lens will generally generated around the yellow circle ( this phenomenon will be writing articles analysis ), frosted surface of lens is more uniform, the facula is on dark area of natural transition;
3 the facula of frosted surface is soft light, not dazzling, used in LED lamp and LED lighting indoor.
4 frosted surface change light to direct manner, and for each other and diffuse type, in full-color RGB mixed lighting is widely used.
